Ronaldo’s 2017 Ballon d’Or-winning season secured third place in the voting.

The special award was introduced to recognise the greatest individual performances among football legends who have won the Ballon d’Or at least twice.

During the 2007/2008 season, Ronaldo scored 42 goals for Manchester United, helping the English club win both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles.

His impressive performances earned him his first Ballon d’Or in 2008. He later won four more awards in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017, bringing his total to five.

The voting also featured other football legends, including Johan Cruyff, Michel Platini, Marco van Basten and Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazário. However, Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi dominated the results.

The victory adds another achievement to Ronaldo’s successful football career and has renewed discussions among supporters about who deserves to be called the greatest footballer of all time.

By Owen Chege Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten his longtime rival Lionel Messi…

[15

post-945","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sports
["GET
