Tanzanian model Jihan Mohin Dimack has been crowned Miss Grand International 2026, becoming the first African woman to win the international beauty pageant.

Dimack won the title during the grand finale held on Saturday, October 10, at MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. She succeeds the outgoing queen, Emma Mary Tiglao of the Philippines.

Her victory marks a major achievement for Tanzania and Africa, which had not previously won the title since the competition began in 2013.

Dimack impressed the judges during the final question-and-answer session, where the top five contestants were asked what qualities an empowered woman should possess.

In her response, she highlighted kindness, putting others first and being willing to serve. She also credited her mother as her inspiration, saying that a kind heart allows a woman to lead and make a difference in the world.

Her answer placed the focus on character and compassion, rather than physical appearance alone.

Miss Ecuador, Shyare Andrade, finished as the first runner-up, while Miss Netherlands, Beau Megan Goos, took second runner-up.

Miss Guatemala, Ximena Carrillo, finished fourth, followed by Miss Vietnam, Emoura Pham, who completed the top five.

The contestants went through several stages, including swimsuit and evening gown presentations, before the final question-and-answer round determined the winner.

The competition brought together contestants from different countries and territories, giving them an opportunity to represent their cultures and showcase their confidence, communication skills and personal ambitions.
