Law enforcement officers have dealt a major blow to illegal drug trafficking rings across the country. A coordinated police operation has successfully intercepted a massive haul of banned substances.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have officially arrested five suspects in connection with the crime. The targeted operations were carried out simultaneously across multiple locations.

The crackdown spanned across Kisumu, Kisii, and the capital city, Nairobi. This wide-reaching sweep shows how serious authorities are about stopping drug networks.

During these intensive raids, officers recovered a staggering amount of illegal items. They seized over 582 kilograms of bhang alongside 1,002 ready rolls.

The street value of the narcotics recovered in Kisumu alone is massive. Officials noted that the drugs found in that region are valued at over KSh 8.6 million.

This substantial seizure highlights the extensive scale of the illegal trade network the suspects were running. Police intelligence continues to dig deeper into how the operation was coordinated.

All five arrested suspects are currently locked up in police custody. They are being held securely as investigations wrap up.

The suspects are awaiting formal court charges to answer for their crimes. Law enforcement has vowed to keep up the pressure on anyone dealing in illegal drugs.
