Nyoro urges Gachagua to put aside differences ahead of 2027 elections

People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) leader Ndindi Nyoro has called on Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua to stop what he describes as political attacks against him and focus on uniting the opposition ahead of the 2027 General Election.Nyoro’s remarks come after the launch of his political party, which he says has been followed by propaganda directed at him. The Kiharu Member of Parliament expressed concern that the disagreements between the two leaders could affect efforts to build a united opposition against President William Ruto.Speaking at PPK headquarters while addressing party aspirants and delegates from different parts of the country, Nyoro urged Gachagua to change his approach and concentrate on their shared political goal. The PPK leader maintained that opposition leaders need to work together if they hope to challenge Ruto in the next general election. He warned that continued exchanges between political leaders could create divisions at a time when unity is important.Nyoro’s appeal highlights the challenges facing opposition leaders as they prepare for the 2027 polls. With political parties and leaders positioning themselves ahead of the election, cooperation among those seeking to challenge the current administration remains an important issue. The disagreement between Nyoro and Gachagua also raises questions about how opposition leaders will manage their differences while pursuing a common political objective. Whether the two leaders will find common ground remains to be seen as the country moves closer to the next general election.
