Political leaders in Kenya have been urged to prioritize youth employment and economic empowerment as the country continues to face concerns over unemployment and the rising cost of living.
The call comes amid growing public demand for government policies that create job opportunities, support small businesses and improve the livelihoods of young people.
Youth unemployment remains a major concern in Kenya, with many young people seeking formal employment while others turn to entrepreneurship and informal work to earn a living.
Political leaders have frequently identified job creation as a key development priority, with young people forming an important part of the country’s electorate.
Economic empowerment programmes, vocational training and support for small businesses have been identified as possible ways of improving employment opportunities for young people.
However, the effectiveness of such initiatives depends on proper implementation, transparency and the fair distribution of resources.
Young people have also been encouraged to participate in political processes by registering as voters, attending public participation forums and holding elected leaders accountable for their promises.
The issue of youth employment is expected to remain an important subject in Kenya’s political discussions as citizens continue to demand practical solutions to economic challenges.
